Privacy Policy

Last Updated: March 2025

At Energion-Glowly, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we handle your personal information when you use our financial analysis education services. We've written this in plain language because we believe you shouldn't need a law degree to understand what happens with your data.

Our operations are based in Taiwan, and we comply with Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act along with international best practices. If something here doesn't make sense, reach out to us directly.

What Information We Collect

We only collect what we actually need to run our educational services. Nothing more, nothing less.

Information You Give Us Directly

When you sign up for courses or contact us, you share things like your name, email address, and phone number. Sometimes we'll ask for educational background or career interests so we can tailor content to your needs. Payment information goes through secure processors — we don't store credit card details on our servers.

Information We Collect Automatically

Like most websites, we collect technical data when you visit. This includes your IP address, browser type, device information, and how you navigate through our site. We use this to improve the user experience and fix technical issues. For instance, if everyone's bouncing off a particular page, we know something's broken.

Educational Progress Data

As you work through our courses, we track your progress, quiz scores, and completion rates. This helps us understand which teaching methods work and which ones don't. It also lets us pick up where you left off when you come back.

How We Use Your Information

Everything we collect serves a specific purpose. We're not in the business of hoarding data for its own sake.

  • Providing access to course materials and tracking your learning journey
  • Sending course updates, announcements, and educational resources you've signed up for
  • Responding to your questions and providing customer support
  • Improving our courses based on how students interact with content
  • Processing payments and maintaining transaction records as required by law
  • Preventing fraud and maintaining platform security
  • Complying with legal obligations under Taiwan law

We don't sell your personal information to third parties. Period. That's not our business model, and it never will be.

Data Sharing and Third Parties

We work with a few trusted partners to deliver our services, but we're selective about who gets access to what.

Service Providers We Work With

Our payment processor handles transactions securely. Our email service sends course materials and updates. Our hosting provider keeps the website running. These companies only access data necessary for their specific function, and they're bound by strict confidentiality agreements.

Legal Requirements

If Taiwan authorities issue a valid legal request for information, we'll comply. We'd also share data if necessary to prevent fraud, protect our legal rights, or ensure student safety in emergency situations. But these cases are rare, and we review every request carefully.

Business Transfers

Should Energion-Glowly ever be acquired or merged with another company, your data would transfer as part of that transaction. You'd be notified in advance, and the new owners would be bound by the commitments we've made here.

Your Rights and Control

Under Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act, you have specific rights regarding your information. Here's what you can do and how to do it.

Access Your Data

You can request a copy of all personal information we hold about you. We'll provide this in a readable format within 30 days. Send your request to contact@energion-glowly.com with "Data Access Request" in the subject line.

Correct Inaccurate Information

If something in your profile is wrong, you can update it directly through your account settings. For things you can't change yourself, contact us and we'll fix it within 15 days.

Delete Your Account

You can request full account deletion at any time. We'll remove your personal information within 30 days, though we'll keep transaction records for seven years as required by Taiwan tax law. Course completion certificates you've earned will remain valid, but you won't be able to access course materials after deletion.

Opt Out of Communications

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Click it and you're done. You'll stop receiving marketing emails immediately, though we'll still send essential account-related messages like password resets or payment confirmations.

Data Portability

Want to take your course progress data somewhere else? Request an export and we'll provide it in a common format that other platforms can read.

How We Protect Your Information

Security isn't something we take lightly. We've implemented multiple layers of protection to keep your data safe.

Technical Safeguards

All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard SSL/TLS protocols. Our databases are encrypted at rest. We use firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and regular security audits to prevent unauthorized access.

Access Controls

Only essential staff members can access personal data, and they're trained in privacy practices. Access is logged and monitored. We use two-factor authentication for administrative accounts.

Regular Updates

We keep all software up to date with the latest security patches. Our systems are regularly tested for vulnerabilities, and we work with security researchers who report potential issues.

No system is 100% secure, but we take every reasonable precaution. If a data breach ever occurs, we'll notify affected users within 72 hours and report to Taiwan authorities as required by law.

Data Retention

We don't keep data forever. Different types of information have different retention periods based on legal requirements and practical needs.

Data Type Retention Period
Account information Duration of active account plus 1 year
Course progress and completion records 5 years after course completion
Payment and transaction records 7 years (Taiwan tax law requirement)
Support correspondence 3 years after last contact
Marketing communication preferences Until you unsubscribe or account deletion
Website analytics data 26 months

After these periods, data is securely deleted or anonymized so it can't be linked back to you.

Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies to make the site work properly and understand how people use it. You have control over what gets stored.

Essential Cookies

These keep you logged in and remember your preferences during a session. Without them, the site wouldn't function properly. They're necessary for basic operation.

Analytics Cookies

We use these to understand which pages are popular, where people get stuck, and how we can improve. The data is aggregated and anonymized — we're looking at patterns, not tracking individuals.

Managing Cookie Preferences

You can disable non-essential cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block third-party cookies while keeping first-party ones. Just know that some features might not work as smoothly if you block everything.

International Data Transfers

Our primary servers are located in Taiwan, but some of our service providers operate globally. When your data moves across borders, we ensure it's protected.

We only work with providers who maintain adequate data protection standards. For transfers outside Taiwan, we use standard contractual clauses approved by data protection authorities. Your data receives the same level of protection regardless of where it's processed.

If you're accessing our services from outside Taiwan, your information will be transferred to and processed in Taiwan. By using our services, you consent to this transfer.

Children's Privacy

Our services are designed for adults pursuing professional education in financial analysis. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 years old.

If we discover that someone under 18 has provided personal information, we'll delete it immediately. Parents or guardians who believe their child has shared information with us should contact us right away.

For students aged 16-18 interested in our courses, we require parental consent before enrollment.

Changes to This Policy

We review and update this privacy policy periodically as our services evolve and regulations change. When we make significant changes, we'll notify active users by email at least 30 days before they take effect.

The "Last Updated" date at the top shows when the current version was published. We recommend checking back occasionally, especially if you haven't used our services in a while.

Continuing to use our services after policy changes means you accept the updated terms. If you disagree with changes, you can delete your account before they take effect.

Taiwan-Specific Provisions

As a Taiwan-based company, we follow the Personal Data Protection Act and related regulations enforced by the National Development Council.

Your Rights Under Taiwan Law

Taiwan residents have the right to know what personal data we collect, review it, request corrections, ask for collection to stop, and request deletion. You can also ask us to stop using your data for marketing purposes at any time.

Filing Complaints

If you believe we've mishandled your personal information, contact us first so we can address your concerns. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can file a complaint with the National Development Council's Personal Data Protection Division.
